When a retired opera singer leaves her inheritance to her cat, Duchess, and three kittens, the woman’s butler drugs the cats and abandons them in the countryside in order to inherit the fortune himself. Lost in unfamiliar territory, Duchess and the kittens meet Thomas O’Malley, an alley cat willing to help them return to their home in Paris. Care Guide:
Before Lighting: Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep the candle away from drafts, flammable objects and out of reach of children and pets. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each use to prevent excessive smoking and ensure a steady flame.
Initial Burn: When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the wax melts evenly across the surface, creating a ‘full melt pool’ to avoid tunnelling. This usually takes at least 3-4 hours. As a rule of thumb, burn your candle for 1 hour per 2cm in diameter. This ensures an even burn throughout the life of your candle.
Subsequent Burns:
Keep the wick centred and trimmed to 1/4 inch before each use to prevent the flame from becoming too large and to minimise sooting.
Avoid burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish the flame if it becomes too high or flickers excessively.
Allow the candle to cool and solidify before relighting.
Repurpose your candle vessel and clean out the remainder of the wax.
