The QuikClot Haemostatic EMS Dressing is a sterile, soft, nonwoven dressing measuring 10 × 10cm, impregnated with kaolin an inorganic mineral that activates Factor XII, accelerating the body s natural clotting process. This advanced hemostatic technology promotes rapid and robust clot formation to control bleeding quickly and effectively, providing more time to manage patient care during emergency situations.
Compared to standard gauze or other hemostatic devices, QuikClot has demonstrated superior performance in reducing blood loss and promoting stronger clot formation. These benefits may help minimise exposure to bloodborne pathogens and reduce equipment decontamination time.
Each dressing includes an X-ray detectable strip for easy identification and can remain in place for up to 24 hours (refer to the Instructions for Use for full guidance).
