Twin Needles: Ideal for heirloom sewing, hemming and decorative top stitching. Size indicates distance between needles.

**Twin and triple needles are fixed in a nylon block and should be used at a lower speed and not for prolonged periods.

Twin needles are set into a plastic block and because excessive heat is generated by the natural friction of sewing (thread, fabric, needle), this heat can cause the needle to sometimes fall out of the plastic block.

When using a twin needle for long periods of sewing it is important that the machine speed is reduced to about half speed. For example, if a machine has a top speed of 1000spm (stitches per minute), then twin needle stitching should be done at 500spm. Using a fine and smooth thread will also help reduce friction. If sewing for long periods with a twin needle, pause regularly to allow the needles to cool down.

Because of the delicate nature of a twin needle it is important not to push or pull the fabric, as the twin needles are much more flexible than a single needle and can easily hit the stitch plate and break.

The plastic block on twin needles has the same colour coding as all Klasse needle packages so that they can be easily recognised.

The colour coding is blue for universal, grey for ball point, navy for jeans, yellow for metalfil, pink for embroidery etc.
