The WDP-5520 is a heavy-duty 20” (508mm) thicknesser/planer. It’s built for professional and serious hobbyist woodworkers, featuring a premium helical (spiral) cutterhead with 98 indexed carbide inserts for superior finish quality, reduced noise, and minimal tear-out—especially on figured or interlocking Australian hardwoods like jarrah, blackwood, or Tasmanian oak. Available in single-phase 3HP (240V) configurations, it runs at 4,800 RPM with a two-speed gearbox offering feed rates of 30 rpm or 40 rpm for optimal control over different timbers.

Helical Cutterhead Excellence. The 98 carbide inserts (14×14×2mm) deliver exceptionally smooth, quiet cuts with far less tear-out and chatter than straight-knife planers, reducing sanding time and improving finish quality right off the machine.
