Experience the next evolution of Pokémon Legends Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2. Dive into a futuristic Lumiose City, engage in enhanced real-time battles, explore larger Wild Zones and enjoy improved visuals and performance designed for next-gen gameplay.
Luminous metropolis
A major urban redevelopment is in progress in Lumiose City, aiming to create a space where people and Pokémon can live together in harmony. Upon your arrival, you’ll choose a partner Pokémon – Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile – to join you on your adventure. Explore the city’s expansive streets or venture into Wild Zones, where wild Pokémon roam freely. You can try to catch them by aiming and tossing a Poké Ball or by battling alongside your team.

New dynamic battles
For the first time, Trainers and their Pokémon will move and act in real time during battles. Pokémon will respond instantly to their Trainer’s commands. Alongside traditional type matchups, new mechanics come into play – like precise timed moves or Pokémon swaps, managing how long each move takes to execute and understand the area each move can affect.

Mega Evolution is back
In Lumiose City, Pokémon can achieve even greater power through Mega Evolution! When a Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with their Pokémon’s Mega Stone, the transformation goes beyond appearance – unleashing enhanced strength that can shift the course of battle.

"Awesome game so far. Incredible graphics, with pretty in-depth character customisation compared to other Pokémon games I've played. New combat/battle system with a much more "open world" feel about it. Incorporates dodging, aiming, and attacks in a way I've not experienced in Pokémon games before. Highly recommend!"
"I haven't owned or played a Pokemon game since the GBA days, so I was a little cautious about playing modern Pokemon but it has a really good combat system that feels more free and fun to play. I'm enjoying it 6 missions in. Give it a go if you're like me and enjoy Pokemon but haven't played it for a long time."
"Five years after Pokemon X and Y, and well I wish I remembered more from those games as there are so many little call backs and plot points that I should have realised sooner. If you never played them then it’s ok they tell you everything you need to know about Lumiose city and what is going on. I found the tutorial a little long and restricted but the game was a lot of fun when it opened up. Exploring the wild zones and competing in the Z-A Royale were both a lot of fun but exploring the rooftops and seeing random Pokemon was also great. The game really rewards exploration and keeps some rooftops out of reach giving you access gradually meaning the more you play the more there is to do. Great game with an interesting story and great callback to the earlier X and Y games ran great on switch 2."
"Much improved over scarlet violet for performance."
"The game is okay. Not too great tbh. But I was more disappointed with the delivery time."
