Western Australia is a land of dramatic contrasts. Perth and Fremantle are sophisticated urban centres offering a metropolitan yet relaxed lifestyle nurtured by the beautiful Swan River and the Indian Ocean. Beyond are the majesti forests and the many wildflowers of the South-West corner, the rolling firleds of the Wheat Belt, and the historic gold fields. In the State’s north are the marine wonderlands of the Ningaloo Reed and Shark Bay. Further north, the rugged ranges, mighty rivers, tropical plains and magnificent coastline of the Kiberley are found, while in the south are wind-smoothed granite headlands and wide rock-strewn beaches.
