Return Policies

We want you to love your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, this policy explains how returns, exchanges, and refunds work.

Important Note Before installing the Furniture, please double check the following when it arrives:

1) Scan the box for damage, and take a photo of the box to share with our team upon claiming.

2) Make sure the product name and model number match your order confirmation.

3) Remove the packaging and inspect all furniture panels.

If you receive the wrong item or it arrives damaged, don't accept the delivery. Tell your delivery representative(s) and contact us within 24 hours so we can arrange for a replacement. Once you have installed the Furniture, it cannot be returned.

1. Change of Mind Returns

We offer exchanges for change of mind where all of the following conditions are met:

• You provide proof of purchase;

• Your request is made within 30 days of purchase;

• Products are in original condition, unused, unassembled, undamaged, and with all packaging and tags intact;

• Products are not sale items, custom-made, special buy products, gift vouchers;

• A return and exchanges form has been completed;

• You pay a 15% restocking fee;

• The item has not been assembled (assembled items are not accepted unless faulty under Australian Consumer Law).

• Refund is not available for change of mind returns.

Requirements of Resalable condition means item must be:

• Not used

• Not assembled

• Not damaged packed in the original packaging

• Packaging not damaged

• Include all unopened tools and hardware

• Include assembly instructions

2. Return Process for Change of Mind

To return an item:

  1. Carefully repack the item in its original packaging.
  2. Take a photo of the packed item and email it to customer support via Kogan
  3. Provide your preferred pickup date and time.
  4. Make the item available for courier collection at your delivery address (you don’t need to be home — you may leave it at your front door or with building management).
  5. Ensure the item is accessible and clearly identifiable for collection.

Note: You are responsible for return delivery costs for change of mind returns.

3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

You are entitled to a replacement, refund, or repair under the Australian Consumer Law if the product is faulty, damaged, or not as described.

If you believe your product is faulty:

• Please contact us with your order details and photos of the issue.

• We may request further details to assess your claim.

• If your claim is valid, we will arrange return shipping at no cost to you and offer a replacement, repair, or refund.

4. Refunds

• Refunds will be processed to your original payment method, unless otherwise agreed.

• Please allow up to 10 business days for funds to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.

5. Exceptions

We cannot accept returns or refunds for:

• Sale or clearance items

• Mattresses, bedding, or sofa covers (unless faulty under Australian Consumer Law)

• Custom-made or special-order products

• Items returned in assembled condition (unless faulty under Australian Consumer Law)

Warranty Information

1. In addition to any other rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law we warrant to you that the products we supply to you will be free from defects for 12 months warranty.

2. What is a defect? Our Warranty applies to any fault, error or defects in the products (Defect).

3. What do you need to do to claim the Warranty? Within 12 months after the delivery of the products, if you believe you have a product the subject of a Defect you must cease using the product and contact us in writing along with a photo and description of the Defect. If we ask you to, you must return to us the defective products, together with all packaging, parts, accessories, documentation and proof of purchase to the contact details set out below.

4. Where you return a product as part of Defect claim, you will need to cover any associated costs of you returning the products to us and where we find the product is covered by our Defect we will refund the associated costs of you returning the product to us.

5. When we receive the products you return, we will assess the alleged Defect and make a determination as to whether the claim is valid under our Warranty.

6. What will we do if you make a successful claim under our Warranty? We will, at our own cost:

a. repair or replace the product (the decision of whether to repair or replace is at our sole discretion); or

b. if we are unable to repair or replace the product, we will offer you a choice of a refund or compensation as applicable to the Defect.

7. Damage not covered by our Warranty: The following damage is not covered by our Warranty:

a. any act, or omission, accident, or negligence by you or any third party not engaged by us;

b. any failure on your part to follow any instructions or guidelines (including any manual) provided by us in relation to your goods or properly maintain your goods in accordance with any of our instructions or guidelines;

c. use of your goods otherwise than for any application or use specified by us including, but not limited to:

1. use in commercial premises, or for any purpose other than normal domestic residential use; and

2. use outdoors, or with direct exposure to the elements, including direct sunlight.

d. continued use of your goods (where such use is not reasonable) after any defect in your goods becomes apparent or would have become apparent to a reasonably prudent person;

e. incorporation or installation of fixtures, appliances or other items into your goods;

f. failure by you to notify us of any defect in your goods within a reasonable period of time after you become aware of or ought to have reasonably become aware of the relevant defect;

g. reasonable wear and tear of your goods;

h. act of God or force majeure event (including but not limited to war, riot, invasion, act of terrorism, contamination, earthquake, flood, fire or other natural disaster, or any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control); or

a. installation, repair, replacement, maintenance, altering, overhauling or otherwise compromise of the goods by you or any person other than us.

8. Modrn Decor Terms and Conditions prevails: This Warranty is subject to the Modrn Decor Terms and Conditions and in the event of any inconsistency or ambiguity between this Warranty and the Modrn Decor Terms and Conditions, the Modrn Decor Terms and Conditions will prevail

9. This Warranty is only valid and enforceable in Australia and is governed by the laws of New South Wales.

10. No third party reliance: The benefit of this Warranty is for you only, and no other person or third party can rely on or make a claim under this Warranty.

11. No Assignment or transfer: This Warranty or the benefit under this Warranty cannot be assigned or transferred to any other person or third party.

12. Severance: If any provision of this Warranty is held to be void, invalid or illegal or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that provision is to be read down as narrowly as necessary to allow it to be valid or enforceable, failing which, that provision (or part of that provision) will be severed from this Warranty without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder of that provision or the other provisions in this Agreement.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
